Stikins & Trons: Get Organised For Back To School With Stikins Name Labels & Trons Name Transfers

https://www.name-labels.com

Here at Label Planet, we have designed two types of name labels to help parents, guardians, and children get all of their belongings organised for school.

Why do I need name labels?
Going to school means arming your children with school uniforms, PE kits, shoes and trainers, bags, and stationery before sending them off in the hopes that they'll come home with all their items in tow.

The only problem is all the other families who are doing exactly the same thing.

In a school environment, children share the same spaces and when everyone has similar (if not identical) uniform and personal items, it's easy for things to get mixed up or misplaced altogether. Adding a name label is a simple and easy way to make sure that your children bring home their own things or - if they do lose them - that they can at least be retrieved from lost property.

Okay, so what kind of name labels do you sell?
We sell our very own products; Stikins and Trons.

Stikins are name labels that simply stick on and stay on.
Each label is 30mm wide by 15mm high and is made of a smooth and flexible vinyl material with an advanced adhesive. You simply peel each label off the backing sheet and stick them down; nothing else is required!

These labels can be stuck onto the wash-care label of clothing (where they'll survive in washing machines and tumble driers), onto bags and shoes (although make sure they don't go under the heel as the print will wear off), and onto all sorts of personal items including water bottles and lunch boxes (where they'll also survive being put in the dishwasher or microwave).

These labels are sold in packs of 30, 60, 90, or 120 and are supplied with instructions for use to make sure you get the best out of them.

Trons are name transfers that simply iron on and stay on.
Each label is 35mm wide by 15mm and is made of a very thin layer of material that is impregnated with ink. These labels require one iron on application, during which they fuse and bond with the fabric of a garment or other item to create a fully permanent name label.

These labels can be applied to all kinds of fabric items, including school uniform, hats, gloves, scarves, and (most importantly) socks!

These labels are sold in packs of 35, 70, 105, or 140 and are supplied with silicon sheets (for the application process) and a set of easy to follow instructions to help guide you through the application process.

We also supply our Stikins and Trons in special combination packs so that, whatever the item, you'll always have a name label suitable for the job!

Label Planet: Got An Unusual Project In Mind? Request A Sample To Try Before You Buy!

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

Here at Label Planet we get customers with all sorts of labelling applications in mind - many of which we'd never have even thought of!

This means that we often take calls and emails from customers who aren't sure what kind of label they need, or if a particular kind of label would be up to the job.

This is just one of the reasons why we offer a free sample request service.

All you have to do is fill in our simple online request form and we'll send you a few sheets to test out for yourself, to make sure that one of our products is suitable for the specific requirements of your particular application.

We'll also take a look over the details you provide (such as the type of printer you have, what you'll be sticking the labels onto, and any other specific requirements that you need to meet) to see if we can make any suggestions about the type of label you should use, along with advice and tips on how to get the best print results from your labels.

Stikins & Trons: Back To School Rush? Name Labels Despatched Same Or Next Working Day

https://www.name-labels.com

We've got a whole team working around the clock (or at least around the part that's 9-5) to ensure that we get your name labels despatched as soon as possible.

During the Back to School season, we appreciate that everything becomes a bit of a rush so we aim to despatch all orders on the same or the next working day once an order is placed.

So, if you place an order before 3pm, Monday - Friday, your order will be made and despatched on that same day.

Orders placed after 3pm, Monday - Thursday, will be despatched on the next working day.

Orders placed after 3pm on Friday and over the weekend will be despatched on the following Monday.

All orders are despatched via Royal Mail's first class mail as standard.

While 93% of this will arrive the next day, it is not a guaranteed service and the remainder can take a day or two extra. If you would like to place your order on a guaranteed next working day delivery, please get in touch and we can arrange this for you.

Label Planet: Blockout/Opaque Labels - We've Got You Covered

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

Whether you need to cover up a mistake or replace some old text with something new, opaque or "Blockout" labels are an ideal solution.

Opaque labels are designed specifically to block out anything beneath them, so you can only see the label itself and anything that has been printed on it.

We have a range of opaque labels, which are made of matt white paper with an opaque or "blockout" backing that prevents anything from showing through the paper layer.

We sell this label in a variety of sizes - although we cannot do bespoke sizes - at a minimum order quantity of 500 sheets. You can see the available sizes on our Opaque Label Product Page.

As some customers only need a few labels and find that 500 sheets is just a bit too much, we do have a few alternative suggestions:

1. If you've got a steady hand, you could simply try layering our standard labels until any existing print is no longer visible.

2. Try our Gold or Silver labels; the particular finish of these labels creates an opaque or block out effect, so they will do the same job as our Opaque labels - albeit with a slightly more eye catching finish.

3. As a compromise, you could try our Matt White Polyethylene labels; as this is a thicker material than standard paper it is more efficient at covering up existing print than a standard label. However, it isn't a perfect solution and (depending on how bold the print beneath is) you may find that the print below is still slightly visible.

Stikins & Trons: Personalised Name Labels - Make Sure They're Perfect For You

https://www.name-labels.com

Like any other personalised item, it always pays to take your time when entering the text you want printing on your name labels and name transfers.

While it seems like a small thing, it can be quite disappointing to find out that the name labels you've ordered have a spelling mistake, misplaced or missing capital letters, or even completely the wrong name - and it's easy to make a mistake, even if you're not in a hurry.

When it comes to something as personal as a name, there is simply so much variation in the spelling of names and the way in which customers want names to be printed that we cannot make corrections on your behalf and we are unable to contact every customer individually to confirm the details of their order. This is why we give our customers as many chances as possible to check their order details to make sure they are exactly what they want, with the full details of each order being displayed:
- On screen each time a new item is added to the Shopping Basket
- On screen after an order is completed (beneath a big purple "Thank You!")
- In a confirmation email that is sent to each customer once they have successfully completed an order.

You should check the details of your order AT LEAST ONCE, preferably before you confirm your order, to make sure that the labels you receive will be personalised exactly as you want them to be. If you can, you should also check the details in the confirmation email, just to make sure.

If you do find an error then please get in touch with us - as soon as you can. We aim to process and despatch orders as quickly and efficiently as possible, so you do need to let us know if you want to change the details of your order as quickly as you can, particularly during the back to school period where we aim to offer same day despatch on as many orders as possible.

And, remember, if you're not sure about how to enter the information that you want or if you have any questions about placing an order, we are always happy to help.

Label Planet: Troublesome or Trying Templates? Remember to Test, Test, Test!

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

We offer Word and PDF templates on our website, for our customers to download and use.

While we have tested these templates to ensure that they work, every computer system is slightly different and there is no guarantee that every customer can simply open one of our templates, insert their text and/or images, and print the document with perfect results first time. While many of our customers find this is the case, others find that the templates don't work perfectly from the start, which is why we advise every customer to always try a test print - printing the template onto blank paper - before printing onto a sheet of their labels.

By printing a test print, you can hold this sheet up against a sheet of your labels and verify for yourself if the alignment is correct or if the template needs a few amendments making. This also allows you to weed out any document or printer settings that may affect the final alignment of the document. The most common examples of this include the Page Size being set to something other than A4 (usually American Letter) or a Scaling setting being applied to the document (so the document prints at a size that is larger or smaller than the sheet of labels).

Our Word templates feature a step by step guide to designing and printing label templates, and we also have a number of help and advice articles available on our website for customers to peruse. Of course, if all else fails, we're also happy to talk to customers about any particular problems or issues they encounter with their troublesome and trying templates.

Label Planet: Tips From Label Planet - Picking A Printer

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

While we specialise in labels, we also try to offer advice on all kinds of things to do with labels and labelling, including the types of printers that can be used to print labels - whether you're at home, in a school, or in an office or business.

Here are a few top tips from Label Planet for picking a printer:

- While "All-In-One" printers may seem like a good idea at the time, they do tend to compromise on the quality of each of the functions they offer. These machines are generally designed to perform a number of functions to an acceptable standard, rather than being designed to perform specific functions to an extremely high standard. This does mean that you may encounter difficulties or low quality print when printing labels.

- It is always worth checking the specifications and features of a printer before buying. In particular, when buying a printer that needs to be able to print labels you should make sure that it has a media bypass tray and that it is capable of processing a variety of materials and media. The general paper tray is designed specifically for paper and is unlikely to process different materials and thicker media very well. Printers with a media bypass tray will also have a greater variety of printer settings (such as "Labels" or "Heavy Paper") that will automatically adjust the printing process to suit the material or medium being printed to produce the best possible print results.

- Laser printers produce waterproof print, so if you have an application in mind that requires labels to survive outdoors or in an environment where they may get wet you must choose a laser printer. Inkjet printers use water-based inks, which means the print they produce will smudge if it gets wet.
- If you purchase an A3 printer, you must make sure that you will be able to feed your sheets of labels into the printer portrait rather than landscape.

- Always check the "duty cycle" of a printer; this estimates the number of pages a printer should be able to print within a certain period of time (usually a month) while maintaining a consistent quality of print and standard of operating. You should buy a printer that has a higher duty cycle than the volume you actually intend to print.

We tend to recommend both OKI and HP printers, as we find that these printers have excellent duty cycles, offer good print quality, and are more than capable when it comes to printing labels. OKI printers also have a flat path through the printer, which is perfect for labels as it reduces the number of rollers the labels have to go through and reduces the chances of labels peeling off in the machine.

Take a look at our Help & Advice page for more helpful hints and answers to some frequently asked questions.

Stikins & Trons: Don't Get In A Steam - How To Apply Trons Name Labels

https://www.name-labels.com

We've got plenty of customers who are enthusiastically giving our Trons name transfers a go - with great results and brilliant feedback.

As our Trons name transfers are an entirely different product to our Stikins name labels, we thought we'd run through the step by step guide to applying your Trons.

Iron on name transfers are made of an extremely thin layer of material that has been impregnated with ink. They iron on to fabric items, where they bond and fuse with the fabric to create a fully permanent name label.

Each name transfer requires a single iron on application, which goes a little something like this:

STEP ONE:
Place the garment or fabric onto a hard, flat surface (such as a kitchen worktop), making sure to smooth out the item as much as possible - this makes it easier to iron the transfer on nice and neatly.

NB: DO NOT USE AN IRONING BOARD!
Ironing boards do not provide the firm, flat surface that is required for the process of applying name transfers.

STEP TWO:
Remove one of your Trons transfers from the backing sheet and position it on the garment or fabric face up - making sure the transfer is facing the right way up, or you'll end up with the text in reverse!

STEP THRE:
Place the silicon paper sheet over the top of the transfer - ensuring that you cover the name transfer entirely.

STEP FOUR:
Heat your iron to the highest possible temperature that is suitable for the fabric type you are applying the transfer to and press down hard on the silicon sheet (over the name transfer) for 20-30 seconds.

NB: YOU NEED TO USE A HOT, DRY IRON!
If you use steam during the application process, both the name transfer and your fabric item are likely to become damp, which prevents the two from bonding properly. If either item becomes wet, you will find that the transfer either bonds poorly and peels off or it fails to bond at all.

STEP FIVE:
Carefully peel off the silicon sheet while it is still hot and survey your handiwork!

You can find out more or buy your own Trons name transfers from our website.

Label Planet: Iron On Name Labels

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

With the Back To School season creeping into view, we wanted to take a moment to let our A4 customers know about a brand new product for labelling school uniform and clothing that we launched back in June.

Trons iron on name transfers are a new type of name label; as a transfer, these labels bond fully with fabric items to create a completely permanent name label solution.

Each transfer is made of a very thin material that has been impregnated with ink; when ironed onto a wash care label or directly onto a fabric, they bond and fuse permanently with the clothing. Iron on name labels can be used on any article of clothing or fabric item, including hats, scarves, coats, gloves, socks, t-shirts, jumpers, skirts, and trousers.

These name labels are sold in packs of 35, 70, 105, and 140 transfers, each of which is supplied with a silicon sheet to be used when applying the transfers and a full set of instructions. Each transfer only needs to be ironed on once, making these transfers a quick and easy way for parents and guardians to add a name label to any kind of fabric item to help prevent items from getting mixed up or lost.

To find out more about our Trons iron on name labels, or to give them a try, please visit the Trons Name Transfers information page.

Label Planet: Congratulations To Teachers (But Are You Ready For Back To School?)

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

We supply a number of schools with labels and we wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to all of their staff as students across the country receive their A-Level results.

While some students will get what they wanted (or even better) and some may be disappointed, behind them are the teachers and members of staff at school who have supported them along the way.

Of course, while you deserve a moment to celebrate the results of your efforts, September is still slowly creeping up. But don't worry! Here at Label Planet we've launched a special School Section on our website, full of help, advice, and resources for teachers to use in the preparation for back to school.

So, while we hope you enjoy a day of celebrations, when you do have the time we hope you'll take a look at our site to see how we can help you get organised for the next school year.

So if you need to get organised or you want to make sure your stuff makes it safely there and back again, why not give Stikins and Trons a try.

Stikins and Trons: Back To School FAQ

https://www.name-labels.com

With parents starting to order name labels for back to school, we thought it was high time we did a short recap of our more common FAQs.

Can I split a pack between two or more names?
Unfortunately, no.

Our system is set up to print one set of text per pack, so we cannot split a pack between two different names.

However, we are more than happy to accept workarounds for parents who would prefer to share a pack between children, rather than buy one for each child. So, for example, you might want to include your surname only (unless it's a common one), include both names/initials on the same set (and either stick them in with both names on OR - if you're feeling creative - cut them in two or cut off one of the first names/initials), or have your surname printed on the second line and write each child's name on the top line with a waterproof/laundry pen.

Do Stikins need to be ironed?
NO. NOT AT ALL!

These name labels were designed to provide as quick and easy a way to label children's school uniform and items as possible - so all you need to do is peel them off the backing sheet and stick them down.

More importantly, Stikins should not be ironed as they are made of vinyl and will melt if they come into contact with an iron.

What can I have printed on my labels?
Pretty much anything you like!

You can have name labels printed with just your child's name or you can add extra information, such as their class, your address, your phone number or email, a message, allergies or medical conditions, DOB - the list is endless.

The only restriction is accented characters, emoticons, and images. While our system can process the basic set of ASCII characters (including some accented characters), we are limited to the first 168 characters and therefore cannot print characters beyond this. If you aren't sure if a character you want to use is available, please do get in touch and we can confirm this for you. If you do include a character that we cannot print, our system will delete this character (if it is a emoticon/shape/image) or replace it with a standard character (without the accent).

How long does it take for delivery?
Orders placed before 3pm are printed and despatched the same day (weekdays). Orders placed after 3pm on Friday and over the weekend will be processed on the following Monday. All of our orders are despatched by Royal Mail's first class service. This is not a guaranteed service so while 93% does arrive the next day, the rest may take a day or two extra. High value orders may be placed onto the Signed For service for extra security during delivery.

Can I stick Stikins onto ANYTHING?
Pretty much!

Stikins should be stuck onto the wash care label of clothing (as this is where they were tested and where we can guarantee they work), onto the side wall of shoes (avoid sticking them under the heel as the print will be worn away), and onto a multitude of personal items - including those that will be put in the dishwasher and microwave.

Do Stikins work in socks?
No, unfortunately Stikins do not cope well in socks.

However, this is where Trons come in. As these name transfers fuse and bond with the fabric of garments, they are a perfect way to create a permanent name label on items that don't have a wash care label.

Can I store Stikins and Trons for future use?
Yes!

We advise keeping them in the bag that they are sent in and storing them in a dry place, out of sunlight, and preferably at room temperature.

Stikins have a shelf life of around two years and Trons can be kept for up to five years - the quality of our products is at its best during this time.

Can I apply Stikins and Trons directly onto brand new uniform?
Yes, but you should wash brand new items first.

Many manufacturers and suppliers of clothing will treat their products to keep the clothes safe during storage and distribution. This means that brand new items of clothing may have traces of dust, excess dye, or chemicals used to preserve clothing, which can interfere with the adhesion of Stikins and Trons.

You can find more answers to FAQ about Stikins and Trons on our website here.

Label Planet: What is a "standard size" of label?

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

We often use the term "standard sizes" when referring to some of our label products, which can cause some confusion when customers are trying to buy labels to stick on items that are also referred to as being "standard" in size.

When a customer regularly buys in items of a "standard" size, it can be a surprise to suddenly find out that there isn't a "standard" size of label to go with them.

In the world of A4 sheets of labels, the measurements of "standard" label sizes are determined by the dimensions of an A4 sheet - namely 210mm wide by 297mm high. Standard label sizes are designed to fit as many labels as possible onto an A4 sheet with as little waste in between and around the labels as possible.

You can search through our label sizes by using our "Search Pages" to:

Search By Height
Search By Width
Search By Shape
Search By Number Of Labels Per Sheet

Stikins & Trons: What's In A Name - Trons Transfers

https://www.name-labels.com

Now that our Trons name transfers are up and running, we thought we'd explain the story behind the name.

We wanted something that would work alongside our Stikins, while also being easy to remember, easy to say, and also short and catchy - which was quite a list of requirements to meet!

We went through hundreds of different options, voted time and again for our favourites, before deciding that - actually - we didn't like the options we'd come up with and it was probably best to start all over again.

Anyone who has had to name a new product will know the difficulties and frustrations of coming up with that perfect name - after all, it will be the name of your product forever and you don't want to get stuck with something that - after reflection - just doesn't sound quite right.

But one day, we finally came up with a solution. Our Stikins name labels are named so because they are name labels that simply stick on and stay on. Or, in other words, they stick in - stik in - Stikins!

So, for our new product, we followed the same pattern. Trons are iron on name transfers, which simply iron on and stay on. Of course, this gives us the name "Ironons" and we weren't altogether keen on that. So we tried again; these name transfers simply transfer on - transon - Trons!

And that's how we got the name!

Label Planet: Return(s) To Label Planet

https://www.labelplanet.co.uk

We hope that our customers find all of our products to be just what they were looking for. But we also know that sometimes things just aren't quite right, so if you find that you need to return an item to Label Planet this is how it works.

First, make sure you get in touch!
Send us an email or give us a call to explain the situation. Where possible, we will try to offer a solution to any issue with your items. If you do need to return an item, we will then talk you through the steps to complete a return.

Second, decide what kind of return you prefer.
Where possible, we will offer our customers the choice of receiving either a REFUND or a REPLACEMENT.

FOR REFUNDS:
- We will assign a goods return number to your order - this number should be put on or in the package you are returning
- Send your package back to us at Unit 2, Alvaston Business Park, Middlewich Road, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 6PF
- Once your order is delivered back to us, we will use the goods return number to confirm the details of the return and process your refund
[For orders placed online, the refund will be processed directly back to the card or account used to make the order. For orders placed over the phone, we will need to contact you by phone to get your card details so that we can complete the refund.]

FOR REPLACEMENTS:
We have two ways of processing replacements.
If you need your replacements urgently we divide the return into two parts:
1. Place a new order for the replacements so they can be despatched as soon as possible.
2. Send your original goods back, along with your goods return number, and we will process a refund for the original order once it has been delivered to us.
If you have time to wait for your replacements:
1. Send your original goods back, along with your goods return number, and we will despatch the replacements once the original order has been delivered to us.
[Please note that if you request replacements that cost more than the original order you will need to pay the additional amount and if your replacements cost less than the original order we will refund the difference for you.]

If you have any further questions about refunds or if you want to find out if you can return a particular order, please get in touch.
